
The United States Secretary of Commerce, along with the Ministers of Economy from Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Jamaica, have already confirmed their participation at the Forum to be held on September 28 and 29 in Santiago, Chile.
The III Americas Competitiveness Forum represents the most important gathering point in 2009 for politicians, businesspeople, academics and those who are interested on the subject in general, as more and more authorities are confirming their attendance to this event.
Along with personalities such as the OAS Secretary General, Jose Miguel Insulza, the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva or the President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez, the following guests have announced their participation today:
- The Minister of Economy of Brazil, Guido Mantegna.
- The Minister of Economy of Mexico, Gerardo Ruiz Mateos.
- The Minister of Economy and Finance of Ecuador, Maria Elsa Viteri Acaiturri.
- The Minister of Economy and Finance of Peru, Luis Carranza Ugarte.
- The Minister of Finance and Public Services, Audley Shaw.
Furthermore, also joining this initiative are well-known names of the world of competitiveness such as Deborah L. Lince-Smith, President of the United States “Council on Competitiveness”; Roberto Newell, General Director of the Competitiveness Mexican Institute; and Claudio Leite Gastal, Representative of the Brazilian Competitiveness Movement.
